Yama Buddha- "Saathi" is a copy of Arabic song

I was disappointed to find that Yamma Buddha -Saathi is a copy of Arabic Song. I like Yamma Buddha's Voice, but I wasn't too thrilled about the Video. He could have made it better..

Now to find out that it was just the copy of someone's musical composition made me rethink about Yamma Buddha.

Its a good try Yamma Buddha, but I think next time when you copy from someone else please give some credit to the original composer.

Any way loved the lyrics, hope original musical composition next time Yama Buddha!!

Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra will go Nepal together?

This came as a surprise revelation in the DON 2 press conference during the ongoing 62nd Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). One of the journalists who came from Nepal asked Priyanka that he had heard that Shah Rukh Khan and she were planning a trip to Nepal. This surprised Priyanka a wee bit but the smart Ms. World regained her composure in a jiffy and answered the question as diplomatically as possible. She said that she had good childhood memories of Nepal.

She neither denied nor confirmed the news if she was planning the reported trip to Kathmandu with Shahrukh Khan in this 'no-reply'. There have been rumours doing the rounds of the Nepalese Capital that King Khan would be coming for a show there and Priyanka would be with him too. In view of the reported antagonism of Gauri Khan towards Ms. Chopra, and SRK's Berlinale flip-flops of 'is he coming or not?' and his quick appearance and exit from Berlin, one is left wondering if there was more to his 'cold and flu' and the 'effects of antibiotics' variety of twittering than what it looks on the surface.

The 'SRK-Priyanka in Nepal' news is bound to make the rumour mills going at a break-neck speed and add fuel to a fire none really knows if it actually exists or not. However, we keep seeing the columns of smoke rising in unexpected places like Berlin and Macau. Will the next destination be nearer home in a place like Kathmandu?

Chapali Heights Movie Poster Causing Road Accidents

Film posters displayed in the either side of the road are behind the 10 percent of the road accidents, Metropolitan Traffic Police said. Majority of the accidents are due to erotic posters of the cinema, DIG Ganesh Rai informed FilmNepal.

As the erotic posters, advertising and hoarding boards were found behind the accidents, traffic police has directed the concerned persons to remove poster of 'Chapali Height' from some half a dozen places. 'Keeping in mind the social norms and road security, we have directed to remove the posters of the film,' Rai added.

Recently, police said a poster of ‘Chapali Height’ caused an accident in Kalanki. This prompted the traffic to remove the posters. Kiran Shrestha of Chapagaun, Lalitpur was killed when a motorcycle he was riding collided with a bus en route to Kalanki from Thankot. Raj Kumar Shrestha sustained injured on his legs.

'We don't have evidence that justifies the accident but we suspect that the posters that are visible while driving are among the reasons behind the accidents,' Kalanki Traffic Inspector Pradip KC said.

Riders loose the control of their vehicle as their attentions are drawn by the film posters, KC claimed. 'This is why we don't allow the posters to be displayed in public places,' KC added.

'Chapali Height ' is once again in the controversy for causing the road accidents after nude posters controversy. Producer Arjun Kumar removed the posters from some half dozen places following the police directive.

Nepali films in KIMFF

Since its establishment, the quality of Nepali films that have been screened in the film festivals and other film festivals around the world, have improved greatly. Nepali filmmakers have been inspired by international standards and a vision of taking the films that are made in Nepal to a new level. However, it is difficult to compete with films of international standards right away, due to technical advancement that the international filmmakers enjoy. One of the biggest constraints of Nepali filmmakers is however, budget. Therefore, KIMFF makes it a point to judge Nepali films on a different criteria than the international ones. As a result, there is a completely different section called “Nepali Paranoma” where Nepali films are enrolled and judged. This way, filmmakers who have similar working environments and similar problems compete with each other in developing Nepali films and themselves in the process.

Street Kids and their addiction

We can see lots of street kids basically homeless children roaming in our city. These kids stay in groups. They come to city in search of better life as most of them come from remote areas of Nepal. The places from where they come have less opportunity. The other reason they come to city is because they are driven out form their house by their step mother or some other family related problems. After they reach the city many try to get work, the lucky ones get jobs at tea shops as a helper, as bus or tempo or micro bus conductors and luckier one are kept as a house workers and helpers.

What about the unlucky ones?

The unlucky ones are forced to sleep on the street, run towards dumping site to collect plastic, glass bottles which they collect and sale to scrap shop to earn some money and kill their hunger. They are not always lucky enough to make money out of such dumps to kill their hunger. They are forced to beg or get into pick pocketing. Sometimes, they fight among each other and steal friends’ money but still they are seen together walking around corners of Kathmandu’s streets. We can even see them begging, especially with the tourist as they know most of Nepalese people won’t give them a single paisa.

Now-a-days, we can see that these street kids have developed a new kind of addiction. Their addiction is towards the odor that comes from some adhesive which are mostly used in making leather shoes. In Nepal they are commonly known as “Dendrite” by the name of the company that produces them.

These adhesive are synthetic rubber which is a combination of Aromatic and Aliphatic Solvent with a strong odor. They are highly flammable too.

Street kids, domestic hands seek voting rights

Kathmandu, Aug. 17: Street children and domestic workers, too, should have the right to cast their votes in the constituent assembly elections, they said at an interaction programme on Child Rights and the Constituent Assembly.

They said the state should also provide them their rights and their voices should be listened to.
Bishal Kayastha, former street child who now lives in a child’s home, said because of lack of parental care he likened his maternal uncle’s home more than his parent’s home.

“I was very much naughty when I was a child and my parents used to tie me with rope to make me stop doing nasty thing so I prefer to go to my maternal house in Panauti,” Bishal who is 15, said. No child would like to come to the street if they get proper love and care from the parents, he said.

One day on his way home from maternal house Bishal got lost and became a street children. That was during the people’s movement last year. He started living with other street children and drive rickshaw. The rickshaw driver only gave him two meals a day and no salary.

Another street child, Kamal Baral of Sindupalchok said that he was forced to leave his village after the Maoist threatened to kidnap him. He is a son of an armyman.

“Being the son of an army man, the Maoists used to threaten to take me away with them when I was on my way to school,” he said. Then he fled his village, came to Kathmandu and working as a hawker.

Currently, Baral is staying with his parents in Kathmandu. He still works as a hawker, but also goes to school.

Media persons and those working for the child rights said that many street children were more aware about politics than other children.

They said that more than 50 per cent street children participated in the people’s movement in one way or the other. In many protest programmes these children were the ones who were at the front, they said. More than 50 per cent of the street children were also injured but nobody has cared for them or has acknowledged their contribution.

They also said it is the duty of the adult eligible voters to choose the right candidates who can make a difference to the street children as well as everybody else.

Manisha Koirala caught dead drunk in a party

We haven’t heard much good news about Manisha Koirala these days. Her re-entry in Nepali movie wasn’t that effective and the marriage didn’t work either. She had been seeking inner peace by visiting various yoga camps and she still doesn’t seem to have gathered herself up, yet.

Manisha was caught in a very unpleasant drunken state at a newly opened restaurant. It was the opening ceremony of the new restaurant, Versova, owned and operated by her ex-boyfriend Prashant Chaudhari.

Dressed in black-grey dress, Manisha, wasn’t able to control herself and was escorted to her residence by her friends.

Manisha looked haggard and pale with wrinkles and double chin showing clearly. It is clear she hasn’t taken much care of herself recently. Although Manisha is known for her smoking and alcohol addiction, the condition in the party was reported to be beyond imagination.

Manisha is known to be struggling hard to save her marriage, and live like a good housewife (after numerous unsuccessful affairs) , doing social works and retire. But, things haven’t turned out as she liked. We wish things do change in the coming days.
