1950s Old Nepal documentary by Toni Hagen

This 1950’s documentary by Toni Hagen is really awesome and shows how beautiful Nepal was in the past. The documentary was filmed by Toni Hagen and is narrated in Nepali. Toni Hagen filmed Nepalese cultural and ethnic diversity originally as produced as a silent documentary, and later with an English narration in his own voice.
Filmmaker Toni Hagen shot much of his sociological documentary “Uhile ko Nepal” between 1950 and 1960 – a decade when the gates of Nepal had only recently been opened to the outside world.
Toni Hagen who is behind the above Nepali Documentary, explored the geography of Nepal. He first visited Nepal in 1950 with a first Swiss development assistance mission. In 1952 he was employed by the government of Nepal and also worked for the United Nations. Read more about him on Wikipedia.
