Child Trafficking in Nepal Documentary by FHC

In Nepal, trafficking has become a highly profitable business, with high profile political connections. Nepali, Bangaldeshi and Pakistani women are trafficked to India, and through India they are trafficked to Eastern Europe and Saudi Arabia. More than 9,000 girls are trafficked each year from Nepal and Bangladesh into bondage in India and Pakistan, often with the acquiescence or cooperation of state officials.

Som Tamang, a former child slave produced this documentary to raise awarenss about the problems facing the Tamang children in Nepal. Friends of Himalayan Children Inc. have been working in Batase village to change the future for the children through providing educational opportunities.
